The brand advises that a white wax film may appear on the surface of the rubber boots and that it can be wiped off with a damp cloth. This “blooming” effect is not a defect. Blooming is caused when the boots are exposed to extreme temperatures or temperature swings and the wax helps prevent the rubber from weathering.

The fit was not right at all – the shoe area was too big to include the ankle area but the shaft was too tight – Really not style for the price either.

Don’t buy Hunter boots. They’re way too expensive for them to crack like this. I rarely wore them and would’ve expected them to last at least a decade, especially for the price. It’s too late for me to return but maybe I can help someone else avoid making the same mistake.

If you have relatively slender feet, ankles and calves and you’ve been wanting to try Hunter boots, these may work for you. I’m very happy with mine. Very polished and classy looking rain boot. Fit is more like a riding boot, than a standard pair of rubber boots. I do find that they are thinner than other rain boots that I’ve had. They are so refined looking that you may be tempted to wear them more often than you should. Having been on the hunt for a classic rain boot that will fit my narrow feet (with socks) for at least the last five years, I’m ok with pampering these, reserving them for rainy days only.
