- The brand advises that a white wax film may appear on the surface of the rubber boots and that it can be wiped off with a damp cloth. This “blooming” effect is not a defect. Blooming is caused when the boots are exposed to extreme temperatures or temperature swings and the wax helps prevent the rubber from weathering.

I usually wear 8.5-9 in regular shoes so I decided to purchase these boots in 8 and 9 (to try them side-by-side) since most reviews say they run large. The 8 felt like the correct snugness but the tip of my foot would hit the front of the boot. The 9 initially felt a little too loose but after I tried them with a thick boot sock, like I intend to wear them, they fit perfectly. I would suggest that if you want to wear a thicker boot sock, true to size is the way to go. I returned the 8.

Not many choices for men, so I went for the best, aka most expensive. Overall three stars. Minus one for the sole insert, which is not adhered to the boot inside – came off stuck to a crew sock on first use. Also, minus one for overpricing; would be good value at a lower price. They are rubber boots with no overhead for styling, advertising, etc.

The boots have a small opening… husband squeezed into them but had a VERY hard time getting off! Thank goodness he was home. I would NOT recommend.

Great boots for wet or sloshy weather. Find then comfortable to wear all day and in colder weather just wear heavier socks. They are my go to boots I leave by the front door to just slip on and hit the elements. My foot is 12.5 D and size 12 fit fine. I really like them.

My wife loves them. Wears them for all purposes.

I wear 8 1/2 W. I ordered both 8 and 9 for not knowing how it fits. It came out 8 fits fine with plenty room. I ordered dark olive green but before I polished it out of box it looked more like gray.

I bought these as a gift for my husband. He normally wears a 12 in dress/casual shoes and 12.5 in running shoes. Because of other reviewers noting that they ran small, I ordered both a 12 and 13. Like they said, they run a bit small, so he kept the 13s and sent back the 12s. Otherwise, it’s a great boot and he loves them.

Great boots, and the only brand of “wellies” I’ll ever buy again. Only shame is that they don’t come in half sizes… my hubby is a perfect 10.5, so had to choose between a snug 10 or a roomy 11.

These boots have been very helpful for me this spring. It rained a lot this spring in Chicago so I needed a pair of boots that can help me get through the weather patterns. They are nice, warm and comfortable when paired with wool socks.
It’s also very stylish ad goes along with practically anything that I wear.

I had the original talls that I purchased almost 10 years ago and they have held up great. I purchased these original short for a different look and easier pull on. After 9 months the tread on the bottom has taken a significant hit and the insoles were constantly folding over. (don’t have these problems with the first pair). Contacted Hunter directly and they were not helpful. Just noticed that now, a little after a year, the seam at the top of the shoe is now leaking. Not really happy with the overall quality- I thought it was a better brand and could hold up to standard wear and tear. I purchased another pair of the short boots in hopes that they hold up better and the brand lives up to it’s hype.

My absolute favorite rain boots. Survived through harsh Upstate NY weather no problem. Great at keeping your feet warm so I wouldn’t recommend wearing these in summer. Opening is a bit on the narrow side so if you have big calves you might have problem but that didn’t effect me. Quite comfortable with moderate arch support. Sized pretty accurately. Too bad they don’t come in 1/2 sizes.

Absolutely love these. Great fit, perfect for small stream crossing. Look great, fits well, no pinching.

I really like them. I’m generally a size 11 and they fit me true to size. They are comfortable. I will agree that they were a little difficult to put on and take off, but it wasn’t anything egregious. I would imagine they would be more so if you had thick winter socks.

It’s a classic for good reason: it’s well constructed and totally waterproof. A big added plus for folks like myself with wide feet: the design of the toe box is nice and wide, so I didn’t have a problem with my normally EEE wide feet. This is a good thing, as the boot only comes in one standard width.
There is a downside, however, especially for folks like myself with short legs and muscular calves. The material is thick, and somewhat stiff along the top edge, and may bite into your calf muscles. Furthermore, even with the top strap completely undone, there was not enough room to tuck my jeans comfortably into the boot to protect against abrasion. Even so, I’ve decided to keep them because they’re otherwise an excellent choice for rainy days. I probably will limit use to shorter walks, at least until I figure out a workaround for the top edge.

The fit and size on these boots were perfect for me. I generally float between a men’s 13 and 14, and often get wide shoes. With these boots however, 13 was perfect, and they’re wide enough once they’re on your feet. Just a bit tight to pull on, but perfect once they’re on. I also had no issue with the calf width of the upper boot with muscular calves.

These are great boots, but definitely go a size up. Even with very thin socks the correct size was tight.

Quality of the exterior shell is horrible. Likely made of inferior grade polymer that degrades after few months of wear & exposure to weather. Company will not return phone calls or inquiries for replacement/warranty.

I wanted to love these – difficult to get on and tight at ankle – room at toe and arch felt good but just too tight.

I’m really happy with the purchase. In reading many reviews about concerns getting the boots on and off I found them to be fine. The rubber has more than enough flexibility to get them on and off easily (I was also wearing socks, which you’d expect would make it harder). Comfort was very good, totally waterproof (I stood in a stream with them) and sizing was right on the money. Very happy with this purchase.

Nice boots! Somewhat loose at the heel, but that’s rain boots.

These Hunter boots are the real deal, the right color and the right treads. Finally decided to treat myself.

We love our Hunter boots. They take a beating with all the yard work and animal care we do in them. I use my shiny new ones for around town and when they get worn down make them my chore boots. In hot climates the short rain boot is much nicer for yard work.

My wife recommended the brand and I tried on some other versions and liked the fit but wanted the brown over green. I will use these for spring yard work but haven’t had a chance to use them yet.
